This building's steam boiler was at end of it's useful life. The owner was interested in upgrading the heating and water heating system. Efficiti performed an analysis comparing different retrofit options: 

1-Hydronic gas and electric space heating solution 

2-Split system heat pump 

3-Gas steam system

All the options where analyzed and compared against the baseline for capital cost, annual utility cost, ease of installation, relevancy of the technology over time and ease of upgrade in the future. Simple paybacks were also calculated for each system type.  Based on all factors, Hydronic distribution with gas boiler system was recommended for this building.
